About us

This is a cross-disciplinary project and we scholars from computer science and communication science providing complementary expertise to solve the puzzle of serendipitous TV recommendations:

The communication science team (Tilo, Allison, and Britt) are responsible for the user perspective and provide (a) insights on what information users rely on in their media choices (to show which linked data patterns may be meaningless/meaningful), (b) a psychological conceptualization and operationalization of serendipity, and (c) expertise in carrying out the two empirical studies.
